2018 Comedy-Drama Film ‘Tully’ Starring Charlize Theron Drops On Netflix

'Tully,' a 2018 American comedy-drama film, follows a mother of three and her night nanny as they form a connection. Charlize Theron, Mackenzie Davis, Ron Livingston, and Mark Duplass feature in the film. Following Juno (2007) and Young Adult (2011), which both starred Theron, this is the third collaboration between director Jason Reitman and writer Diablo Cody.

'Tully' is set to release on Netflix on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Marlo is a city dweller from New York who is expecting her third child. Ron, her husband, is caring and hardworking, but he is unaware of the burdens that parenting places on her. Marlo's affluent brother hires a nighttime nanny named Tully to assist his sister with the burden once the baby is delivered. Marlo is initially hesitant, but she eventually comes to appreciate what Tully does, creating a particular friendship with her new, lifesaving friend.

The film cast Charlize Theron as Marlo Moreau, Mackenzie Davis as Tully, Ron Livingston as Drew Moreau, Asher Miles Fallica as Jonah, Lia Frankland as Sarah, Mark Duplass as Craig Freehauf, Elaine Tan as Elyse, and Gameela Wright as Laurie.

The film had its world premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was distributed in the United States on May 4, 2018 by Focus Features. Critics mainly appreciated Theron and Davis' performances, as well as the film's portrayal of parenting. At the 76th Golden Globe Awards and the 24th Critics' Choice Awards, Theron was nominated for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and Best Actress in a Comedy Movie, respectively.

Tully grossed $15.6 million worldwide, with $9.3 million in the United States and Canada and $6.2 million in other markets.
