Following the meeting, Trump made a statement in which he referred to the encounter as 'wonderful,' indicating that the leaders reached consensus 'on many significant points.'
Following the meeting, US President Trump announced that the two leaders had reached consensus on many issues. Trump conveyed that President Xi had agreed during the bilateral discussion not to impose export controls on rare earth minerals. In return, Trump stated that he had agreed to reduce tariffs related to fentanyl to China by 10%.
The positive outcomes from the leaders' discussion are expected to decrease interest in safe haven gold.
