Adam Sandler’s 1999 Big Hit Movie ‘Big Daddy’ Arrives on Netflix in July — Release Date, Trailer, and More!

Adam Sandler is Sonny Koufax in ‘Big Daddy’, a 1999 American comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan and written by Steve Franks, Tim Herlihy, and Adam Sandler based on a story by Franks.

It is about an easy-go-lucky guy named Sonny Koufax, who gets dumped by his girlfriend for not accepting responsibility. Sonny then gets a crash course in personal responsibility by adopting a five-year-old boy named Julian who appears on his doorstep.

The movie was the seventh-highest-grossing of 1999 and Sandler's highest-earning until ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ came in 2015. Sandler received the Worst Actor award out of the five Razzie nominations for the film.

‘Big Daddy’ was originally released on June 25, 1999, which became no. 1 at the box office with a $41.5 million gross in its first weekend. 

On Friday, July 1st, 2022, the film will debut on the streaming giant Netflix alongside a ton of other films and shows for release on the same date.

Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is 32 years old and a law school graduate. He's got a nice apartment in Manhattan. There is only one issue. He just does nothing except sit around and live off investment from a small lawsuit he won a year ago. 

But after his irritated girlfriend breaks up with him, he comes up with the idea of adopting a five-year-old kid to prove to her his newly acquired maturity. However, things don't work out as planned, and Sonny ends up being the improbable foster parent, which will cause him to reconsider only looking out for himself.
