They are often preferred because they can be operated remotely and almost eliminate the effort required for cleaning.

However, a shocking incident recently occurred in Los Angeles.

A robot vacuum from a Chinese brand was allegedly hacked and began to 'spout racist slurs.'

A lawyer living in Minnesota recounted an unusual situation that arose while he was watching television with the sound of his malfunctioning vacuum.

He noticed that the device suddenly started making strange noises and quickly realized that a stranger had connected to the vacuum. He emphasized that he heard racist slurs directed at Black individuals coming from the vacuum's speakers.

The lawyer stated that he believed the sounds he heard were coming from a child or teenager. He also expressed concern that these individuals might be switching from device to device, harassing families. The lawyer highlighted that the hackers' access to the device's camera and microphone posed a serious issue, particularly regarding the privacy of his children.

ABC revealed that prior to these incidents, security experts had warned the manufacturer that it was easy to infiltrate the applications controlling the vacuums.

While the company confirmed the situation experienced by Daniel Swenson, they claimed that the issue arose not from their systems but from the compromise of customers' account information. They also announced that an upcoming update in November would make the new series more secure.

This is not the first hacking incident!

In recent months, there were claims that another brand of robot vacuum had been hacked and was chasing a pet dog. What do you think about this?
