HBO Max is taking it a notch higher for its Spanish audience with the original film Toy Aficiao which premieres on Friday, April 22 2022.
Directed by José Carlos Vargas, the Spanish romantic film follows a young scholarship student (Emmanuel) falling in love with an upper-middle-class girl from the same school after they dance together at a musical production.
The trailer gives a blend of music, dance and romance as it tells the story of two lovebirds united by love but slightly separated by social class.
The two lead roles include Jose Mote Prestol playing Emmanuel, and Zamantha Diaz playing Elaine. The other casts include Francis Cruz as Don Carlos, Axel Mansilla as Buba, Raulito Grisanty as Francis, Jose Manuel Rodriguez as Professor, Gayla Beras-Goico as Nicole, Augusto Feria as Don Macarrulla and Layla Taveras as Esther.
Also featured is Alexander Rodriguez as Alan, Evelyn as Del Carmen as Maria, Miguel Lendor as Don Manuel, Mary Gaby Aguilera as Paola, Giamilka Roman as Marta and Luis Alberto Perez as Braulio.
Toy Aficiao is based on a musical of a similar name ante ceded by several successful projects in Santiago and Santo Domingo. The film’s executive producers are Ángela Medina, César Curiel, Eudys Cordero, Lorenzo Castro and María Isabel Concepción.
