Summary: Johnny Hooker, a small-time con artist, unknowingly steals from Doyle Lonnegan, a major crime boss, during a standard street hustle. Lonnegan demands retribution for this insult. After his partner Luther is killed, Hooker seeks help from Henry Gondorff, a master of long cons who has connections through Luther. Hooker, using Gondorff's expertise, plans to kidnap Lonnegan for a large ransom to even the score because he 'doesn't know enough about killing to kill him.' They devise a complex scheme and assemble a talented group of other con artists who want a share of the restitution. The stakes are high in this game, and our heroes must not only contend with Lonnegan's deadly tendencies but also with other players who want a piece of the action. To win, Hooker and Gondorff will need all their skills and a bit of confidence.
