‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ Teased by Infinity Ward on Twitter

Bravo 6 seems to be going dark yet again as Infinity Ward’s profile and header has gone completely pitch black. Fans have also noticed something interesting in the header that seems to be the iconic Ghost lurking in the shadows.

If you head to Infinity Ward’s Twitter account, try turning up your screen’s brightness and you can see a shadowy figure with the familiar skull-shaped helmet, indicating that it is indeed Ghost. IW seems to be hinting here that another Modern Warfare title is currently in the works.

Video game companies are widely known to toy with their fans by revealing teasers like this to pique their interest and curiosity. Obviously, fans knew right away who the figure was in the teaser, and now they are likely to anticipate the coming of the next title in the Modern Warfare series.

Infinity Ward also confirmed on Twitter back in February that the Call of Duty title that is set to be released this year will be a sequel to the 2019 Modern Warfare title. This raises the possibility that the teasers shown on their Twitter account is indeed MW2.

The relevant tweet has been deleted or hidden by its owner.

We never really got to see Ghost in Modern Warfare (2019), other than Captain Price revealing his full name 'Simon Riley' at the end of the game.

While the game's timeline included events from previous Modern Warfare titles, the upcoming Call of Duty title will definitely feature iconic characters like Ghost, Soap, and Yuri, who we never saw in action in the previous MW title.

Modern Warfare 2’s plot will most likely revolve around the events that occurred between MW2 and MW3. There's also a good chance we'll see Ghost's backstory before his tragic death at the hands of General Shepherd.
