Amazon aims to conduct 75% of its operations with robots by the year 2033, according to internal correspondences obtained by The New York Times. The company's plan is projected to save $12.6 billion between 2025 and 2027. This will provide a cost advantage of approximately 30 cents per product shipment.
According to this plan, 160,000 positions will be eliminated by 2027, resulting in 600,000 employees being laid off.
Amazon, which is testing the use of humanoid robots, has 1.5 million employees worldwide. Kelly Nantel, a spokesperson for Amazon, made a statement regarding the leaked correspondence.
