Many actors, from Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan, have portrayed James Bond and made their mark in film history.

British actor Daniel Craig was one of them.

Now 56 years old, Craig portrayed the iconic James Bond character for 15 years, from the 2006 film Casino Royale to the 2021 film No Time to Die.

Now, the film world is searching for a new James Bond.

Recently, the famous actor appeared on a podcast by Hollywood Reporter and shared his experiences of accepting the James Bond role and what followed.

Craig, who gained international fame through his portrayal of James Bond, explained, 'When I was offered the role, there wasn't a script yet. I thought I couldn't accept without seeing the script. Back then, I was making good money from the films I was already doing, but I felt I had to prove myself to the world. Looking back, I think I would have been happier if I had just continued doing the films I was doing then. Being James Bond is tough. Each film takes two years off your life, and you're away from home for six months. During that time, I also worked on other films. My desire to prove myself drained me, so I stopped being James Bond.'

Daniel Craig, who has also become very popular in recent years for his portrayal of detective Benoit Blanc, is now in the spotlight with the film Queer.

You may recall that the film was supposed to premiere at MUBI FEST last month, but it was banned. What do you think about Daniel Craig leaving the James Bond role?
