'We applied for the geographical indication in 2018 with the Turkish Patent Institute,' says Varlı. He proudly adds that the salt, recognized and registered upon the request of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is breaking the traditional perceptions of salt. 'The salt is produced in our city in the most beneficial form for health. A product with a geographical indication, it is a product that all of Turkey and the world should know and use. This honors us. It's a salt that contains many different elements due to the spring water from the fault line.'
