Devastating Earthquakes Strike Turkey: Before and After Photos of Kahramanmaraş

The recent 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes that hit Turkey on February 6th have left the nation mourning. The earthquakes, centered in Kahramanmaraş, had a devastating impact on surrounding cities such as Hatay, Adana, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa and others. Countless buildings were reduced to rubble, including the historic Gaziantep Castle and two state hospitals in Hatay. Despite the destruction, rescue efforts are ongoing in the affected regions, where the before and after difference is truly heart-wrenching.

On February 6, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake first occurred at the Kahramanmaraş epicenter in the morning, followed by another 7.6 magnitude earthquake at 13.24 noon.

According to the latest information, 3419 citizens lost their lives after the earthquakes that caused large debris in the surrounding provinces such as Gaziantep, Diyarbakir, Adiyaman, Adana, Hatay and Malatya.

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca, in his latest statement, also said that there were more than 20 thousand injured.

While the search and rescue efforts, in which all Turkish citizens are united, are continuing with the help of volunteer civilian people, the images of the wrecks break our hearts.
