Capital of Phrygia: Gordion Ancient City
Gordion is known as the capital of the Phrygian Kingdom and is located in Yassıhöyük Village of Polatlı district of Ankara. Founded in the 12th century BC, this ancient city became a large fortress in the 9th century BC. During excavations in Gordion, traces of great fires and luxury items were found, indicating the wealth and importance of the city. There is also a monumental tomb known as the Great Tumulus, attributed to King Midas.

From Ankara: After reaching Polatli, you can go to Yassıhöyük Village and reach Gordion.
By Private Car: You can reach Yassıhöyük via Polatlı by following the Ankara-Eskişehir highway.
The Sacred Center of Phrygia: Yazılıkaya (Midas City)
The City of Midas, located in Yazılıkaya Village of Han district of Eskişehir, is considered the religious centre of the Phrygians. The most remarkable structure in the region is the Midas Monument.
