Yikes! Rogue One fans will reunite with their beloved character, Cassian Andor, as he searches for impactful differences to make. Andor will follow a different Star Wars perspective, focusing on the main character’s journey throughout the burgeoning rebellion against the kingdom and how everything else was affected. The deceptive and dangerous era turns Andor into a rebel hero- a must-watch!
The official trailer from Disney Plus’ YouTube Channel begins with a glance into the chilly mountainous planet, Fest, and a scheme to steal from the Empire. Andor describes the Empire executives as proud of them and can’t imagine someone like him would ever enter their house. It then showcases scenes of the unmatched war you can’t help but stare at.
Andor was created, written, and chiefly produced by Tony Gilroy alongside Beau Willimon, Sussana Schiff, Dan Gilroy (co-writers), Michelle Rejwan, Sanne Wohlenberg, Kathleen Kennedy, and Diego Luna (co-chief producers). The series' directors are Benjamin Caron, Sussana White, and Toby Haynes.
The incredible cast team behind the success of Andor includes Diego Luna (Cassian Andor), Adria Arjona (Kleya), Forest Whitaker (Saw Gerrera), Genevieve O’Reilly (Mom Mothma), Kyle Soller (Sergeant Linus Mosk), Denise Gough (Dedra Meero), Stella Skarsgård (Luthen Rael), and Fiona Shaw (Maarva). Other characters include Faye Marsay, Anton Lesser, David Hayman, and Robert Emms.
The first season of Andor premieres on Wednesday, September 21st, with three episodes, followed by weekly releases until November 23rd.
Disney+ took it to its verified Twitter account to share the premiere news, accompanied by a caption, “Discover the birth of rebellion,” and a 50-second video for more details.
Although it was initially scheduled to launch on August 31st, the twelve-episode series’ premiere has been pushed forward to September 21st, without specific reasons.
Andor has faced many challenges throughout its development; the series started filming in 2020 and landed a 2021 release date, which failed due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Andor is probably the most extended Star Wars series with twelve episodes, compared to Wandavisions’s nine and The Mandalorian’s ten episodes. The second season has already been ordered for twelve episodes, as in season one.
