The 2021 science fiction movie Dune is now available for streaming on HBO Max. I don’t know about you but what gets me in a film is its ensemble cast, which is exactly what Dune brings forth. From Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, Timothée Chalamet, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Jason Momoa, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Dave Bautista, Rebecca Ferguson, Chang Chen, Javier Bardem to Charlotte Rampling, the cast brings out every bit of epic moments.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay by himself, Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts, Dune is the first half of the two-part live-action of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert.
Set in the distant future, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides and his family, the noble House Atreides, who is unexpectedly cast into a deadly war and the hostile desert of planet Arrakis. But enough narration, just watch what is in store for you in the trailer video below in case you missed it:
Dune: Part One grossed $400 million on budget of $165 million and received several accolades, including 10 nominations at the 94th Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. The American Film Institute as well as the National Board of Review named the film one of the top 10s of 2021.
83% of the audience liked the film, rating it at 81% on IMDb, 84% on the Rotten Tomatoes website and 74% Metacritic score. According to critics consensus, “Dune occasionally struggles with its unwidely source material, but those issues are largely overshadowed by the scope and ambition of this visually thrilling adaptation.”

Meanwhile, Dune: Part Two is hot, hot, HOT, set to premiere precisely two years after the first half release on October 20 2023. Production is expected to begin this summer, with the sequel bringing back much of the ensemble cast and Florence Pugh supposedly on board to play Princess Irulan.
