Elden Ring: Gameboy Demake Developed By A Fan

Elden Ring is easily one of today’s best open-world titles. From the storyline, mechanics, and overall gameplay the game is just superb. The graphics and animation are top-notch as well and that’s why a lot of players are hooked on this game. But what if we take the modern adventure game and turn it into a vintage one?

Elden Ring GB Demake- First Teaser

That’s exactly what Shintendo is doing. He took From Software’s amazing game and fully did a demake for the Game Boy. Shintendo explained on his Reddit and Twitch accounts that he is making the demake in GB Studio 3.0 which is a software that allows people to custom make games for the Nintendo Game Boy.  It should work on emulators and even on the actual hardware.

Shintendo is streaming the development of the game on Twitch and he is also regularly updating his YouTube channel.

“I haven’t decided on the scope yet, but I am at least hoping to finish [the] Limgrave area by the end of May,” Shintendo said. The demake is yet to be finished but we can see a glimpse of what to expect from his trailer video.

Of course, the mechanics and controls are pretty elementary compared to today’s Elden Ring. You’ll also find the map and vibes completely familiar as the demake got a lot of inspiration from Gameboy classics like The Legend of Zelda and Pokemon. The cunning story of Elden Ring and the nostalgia of the Gameboy might just make this demake a huge success.
