Eminem to Release Deluxe '8 Mile' Soundtrack on Film's 20th Anniversary

Eminem has announced that he will be releasing a deluxe edition of the '8 Mile' soundtrack for the 20th anniversary of the classic movie and the album released alongside it.

Eminem revealed this news to fans through his social media accounts on Wednesday (26th October), announcing that the reissued album would be released on Friday the 28th of October.

The Detroit rapper will also be dropping a video montage of the some the rap battle movie's best scenes.

“‘I’m still standing here screaming ‘f*** the Free World,”” Eminem tweeted on Wednesday, referencing his line from the movie.

“#8Mile 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack drops on streaming Friday!,” the rap legend added.

The relevant tweet has been deleted or hidden by its owner.

The film was first released in November of 2022, and focused on somewhat telling the story of Eminem's upbringing and rise to rap success.

The movie marked the first time Eminem featured in a lead acting role and also featured the actors Mekhi Phifer, Kim Basinger and the late Brittany Murphy.

Since its release, it has grossed over $240 million at the box office and is one of the most successful hip hop themed films of all time.

The release was bolstered by a monumental soundtrack that featured huge names from the world of rap.

'8 Mile: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture,' was released a week after the movie and its original tracks featured music from Rakim, Nas, Gang Starr, Jay Z and 50 Cent.

Eminem's 'Lose yourself' was perhaps the most memorable song from that album, and it became the first rap song to win Best Original song at the 2003 Oscars.

It peaked at number one in the USA Billboard hot 100 music chart, the first time emnem achieved that feat.

It also received multiple Grammy honours, including Best Rap Song and Best Male Rap Song.

The Detroit rapper has continued to see success after success since the movie's release.

Earlier this month his track 'Godzilla,' featuring Juice WRLD, reached over a billion streams on Spotify, the sixth song of his to do so.

The Michigan spitter's last studio album came in 2020, titled 'Music to Be Murdered By,' and recorded the artist another number one spot on the Billboard charts.

The project has gone platinum in a number of countries including the USA. Earlier this year he released 'Curtain Call 2,' the second compilation album of his career, compiled of the greatest hits of the second half of his career.
