Derived from the Dutch version, De Verraders, The Traitors, set in a mysterious Scottish castle, sees 20 prominent figures team up or turn against each other through a series of heart-throbbing challenges to win a grand prize of $250,000.
Three competitors are anonymous traitors, who concoct a plan to steal the prize from the rest, known as the faithful. Every episode sees the players given the chance to eliminate one of them from the game.
But the traitors mustn’t reveal their identity as the remaining players attempt to ‘murder’ whoever they suspect is the renegade.
