Dilek Fountain is an ideal place for those who like mythological stories. It is possible to reach the wishing fountain by turning right when you go 2 km up from Mordoğan Village. Here you are greeted by a sign telling the legend of Narcissos and the following is written on the sign:
'According to legend, the beautiful scent of the daffodil flower started to travel the world from here. The origin of the daffodil, which envelops Karaburun every winter with its durability despite its delicate appearance, is in the Dilek Spring in Mordoğan where you are now. In Greek mythology, the fairy girl Ekho, who was known for her beauty as well as for her eloquence, was punished for this characteristic. Hera, the wife of the chief god Zeus, the goddess of marriage, casts a spell on Ekho. From now on, the fairy girl will repeat only the last word of everything she hears. (This is where the word EKO, meaning Echo of Sound, comes from) One day Ekho sees the handsome Narkissos in the forest and falls in love with him. Although she longs to talk, all she can do is repeat his last words. Narkissos gets bored and leaves. Ekho then cries and turns into a rock. Only her voice remains behind as an echo we call 'echo'. The gods on Mount Olympus are angry with Narcissus and punish him. One day, going down to the river to drink water at the foot of Mount Mimas, Narcissus sees his reflected beauty and falls in love with himself. He remains motionless while watching himself. This time it is his turn to melt day by day. When he dies, his body turns into daffodil flowers in this ancient spring.
