HBO Launches an Official Teaser Trailer for the ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel ‘House of the Dragon’

The excitement continues to build as HBO unveiled the official teaser trailer for the original fantasy serial drama series House of the Dragon on Thursday, May 5, in anticipation of the August 21 D-day.

House of the Dragon posted the teaser trailer on its Twitter page on the same date with the caption, 'History does not remember blood. It remembers names. August 21. #HouseoftheDragon.”

Several cast members were also unveiled, including Knight of the Kingsguard Criston Cole, The Queen Who Never Was Rhaenys Targaryen, Confidante to Daemon Targaryen Mysaria, The Sea Snake Corlys Velaryon, Daughter of the Hand of the King Alicent Hightower, Hand of the King, Otto Hightower, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms; First of His Name Viserys Targaryen, Prince of the City Daemon Targaryen and Eldest child of Viserys I Rhaenyra Targaryen.

The faces behind the characters are Paddy Considine as King Virserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Milly Alcock as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole and Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon.

More epic faces featured in the series include Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, Ryan Corr as Ser Harwin ‘Breakbones’ Strong, Emily Carey as young Alicent Hightower, David Horovitch as Grand Maester Mellos, Jefferson Hall as Lord Jason Lannister, Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling, Matthew Needham as Larys Strong, Bill Paterson as Lord Lyman Beesbury and Gavin Spokes as Lord Lyonel Strong.

Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal, House of the Dragon follows the Targaryen civil war, which took place three centuries before the events of its progeny, Games of Thrones. 

House of the Dragon finally premieres on August 21, with its first season containing 10 episodes.
