HBO Max’s DMZ season 1 Premieres Today

DC Comics' dystopian TV miniseries DMZ starring Rosario Dawson premieres on Thursday, March 17, on HBO Max. DMZ is created by Roberto Patino based on the 2005 Vertigo comic by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli.

The four-episode series centers on the near future, where a new American civil war demoralizes the state. A single zone in Manhattan becomes demilitarized (DMZ). Alma Ortega (Dawson) is a New York City practitioner who finds herself right at the center of DMZ. She’s forced to find ways to survive in a harsh environment and discover the truth of what went wrong with the state.

If you’re a fan of dystopian comics, then this is your ultimate treat. Since the series only contains four episodes each spanning an hour, it’ll be easy to watch in one sitting.

Dawson takes the female protagonist role of Alma Ortega while Benjamin Bratt scoops the male lead stellar role of Parco Delgado.

Other supporting roles are filled by Venus Ariel as Nice, Freddy Miyares as Skel, Hoon Lee as Wilson, Jordan Preston Carter as Odi Peerlis, Reynaldo Gallegos as Cesar, Juani Feliz as Carmen, Marcel Mendoza as Baby Face, John Wu as Alex, Adelina Santana as Cleo, Jade Wu as Susie and Eddie Rattanasouk as Eddie.

All four episodes of DMZ premiere today. Their titles are episode 1: Good Luck, episode 2: Advent, episode 3: The Good Name and episode 4: Home. DMZ already has a perfect score of 88% on IMDb.
