Consequently, he purchased a domain name for about 30 Singapore dollars, established Repair.sg, and with his father's assistance, he made the business official.
In the early years, he balanced his schooling while carrying out minor repair jobs with his brother, Amos. The journey that started with services like furniture repair, lamp replacement, and simple assembly tasks gradually evolved into a more professional structure. The brothers dedicated all their spare time to the business and managed to meet the market demand step by step.
The initial seven years of Repair.sg were fraught with the constant threat of closure. Zames and Amos, lacking sufficient experience in business management, often found themselves handling low-paying and highly challenging tasks. They lived through periods where they felt compelled to accept every job, setting alarms to respond to messages arriving in the early hours of the morning.
Simultaneously, they invested a substantial amount of time in obtaining the necessary training and licenses required for their work. The prevailing bias against blue-collar jobs in society also posed a significant challenge. Despite criticism from both their families and peers, they persevered and decided to transform their venture into a full-time business as of 2021.
Today, Repair.sg has evolved into a major corporation offering maintenance, repair, and assembly services throughout Singapore. With over twenty employees, a fleet of service vehicles, and an expanding network of services, it has become a well-known brand nationwide. The company, which generated approximately 1.7 million Singapore dollars in revenue in 2024, is aiming to reach 2.3 million dollars in 2025.
