Iron Man Video Game Now in Early Development

If you’re both a Marvel fan and an avid video gamer, then this is great news for you. According to an official announcement by Electronic Arts, there is an “all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game” currently under early development.

This video game will be starred by the beloved Marvel character, Tony Stark AKA Iron Man, and will feature the character’s rich history and narrative.

The relevant tweet has been deleted or hidden by its owner.

The game is being developed by Electronic Arts in close collaboration with Marvel Games, with Oliver Proulx leading Motive Studio, which is based in Montreal.

For those who are unfamiliar, Oliver Proulx has also worked on similar past projects, including the Action-Adventure game Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. He will also be working alongside several industry veterans in Motive Studio, such as Maëlenn Lumineau, Ian Frazier, and JF Poirier.

These are not only industry veterans but passionate developers as well, so the development of the game is definitely in good hands. Even Oliver Proulx sounds excited in his official statement (which is a good thing, of course):

“It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic Super Heroes in entertainment today.”

“We have a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we can call our own. Marvel is encouraging us to create something fresh. We have a lot of freedom, which is so engaging for the team.”

According to Electronic Arts, the game in development will involve 'an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man.'

So, if you’re a fan of Iron Man/Tony Stark in the Marvel universe, then you should definitely be excited. But don’t get too excited! The company also mentioned that the game is still currently in the pre-production phase, so it won’t be out any time soon. All we can do for now is wait for official updates (and maybe leaks).
