An Israeli UAV carried out an attack in the Deyr Antar district of the Bint Jbeil region. Israeli warplanes also launched air strikes around the town of Shemstar in the Baalbek region. The Israeli army, in its statement, claimed to have targeted Hezbollah and the Lebanese environmental group, Green Without Borders (GWB). It was noted that among the points targeted in the Israeli attacks was a quarry used by Hezbollah to produce cement for reconstruction in southern Lebanon, which was devastated.
It was stated that the facilities belonging to the targeted GWB were also used for reconstruction. Israel claimed to have 'raided underground terror facilities belonging to Hezbollah, used for storing weapons in the Bekaa Valley (east) and southern Lebanon.'
Israel launched an attack on Lebanon in October 2023, which turned into a full-scale war by September 2024.
In the said war, more than 4,000 people lost their lives, approximately 17,000 were injured, and 19 were arrested. Despite the ceasefire agreement reached between Hezbollah and Israel in November 2024, it was reported that Israel violated the agreement more than 4,500 times and as a result of these violations, hundreds of civilians were killed and injured. Israel also continues to occupy five Lebanese hills that it captured in the last war, and maintains its presence in some areas it has held for decades.
