Logitech and Microsoft just recently announced a handheld gaming device that could possibly rival the Steam Deck (or will it?). Formally announced through a blog post by the Vice President of Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft, Catherine Gluckstein, the Logitech G Cloud is an Android-based gaming device specially designed for cloud-based gaming and streaming.
The first thing that probably comes to mind to those in the gaming community is: how does the Logitech G Cloud match up against the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch? Well, when we talk about mere specifications, it actually does pretty well!
In terms of display, the device holds well on its own. Of course, it still won’t match the Nintendo Switch’s OLED version, but it doesn’t really have to. Moreover, the Logitech G Cloud features a less bulky build compared to the Steam Deck and non-lite version of the Switch.
However, the main unique thing about the Logitech G Cloud is that it features cloud gaming instead of the traditional local installation of games.
Despite the lack of amazing processing power, the Logitech G Cloud’s hardware will let you play your favorite games, such as Halo Infinite, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded, among others—and it’s all thanks to cloud gaming technology. This means that the hardware isn't burdened with having to increase its memory or provide over-the-top processing power since games will be played “on-demand,” requiring only at least a decent WiFi connection.
Unsurprisingly, the device also supports Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now.

The innovative handheld is set to release on 17th October. It is currently priced at $350, but pre-ordering will allow you to avail a very welcome fifty-dollar discount.
The Logitech G Cloud gaming device’s current price may be an undesirable price point for most gamers since it’s as expensive as the new Nintendo Switch OLED and only cheaper by $50 than the cheapest version of the Steam Deck. But if you’re keen on cloud gaming and streaming, then it’s definitely worth a look.
