Max Original’s ‘Julia’ Season 1 Premieres Today

The Max Original comedy TV series Julia, based on the inspirational life of Julia Child and her cooking show 'The French Chef', finally debuts today March 31. You can watch the show's first three episodes, 'Omelette', 'Coq au Vin', and 'Beef Bourguignon', on HBO Max.

Julia Carolyn Child, who lived from August 15 1912 to August 13 2004, was an American cooking instructor, tv influencer and author. She is famous for introducing French cuisine in America, with her premiere recipe book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She also launched cooking tv shows, the most recognized of which was The French Chef, which debuted in 1963.

Rounding up the series cast members are Sarah Lancashire as Julia Child, David Hyde Pierce as Julia's husband Paul Cushing Child, Brittany Bradford as Alice Naman, Bebe Neuwirth as Avis DeVoto, Isabella Rossellini as Simone Beck, Robert Joy as Hunter Fox, Erin Neufer as Marian Morash, James Cromwell as John McWilliams, Adriane Lenox as Virginia Naman, Jefferson Mays as P. Albert Duhamel, Judith Light as Blanche Knopf and Christian Clemenson as James Beard.

Julia has a total of eight episodes, with the fourth all through season finale scheduled for a weekly release every Thursday from today. Episode 4: “Petit Fours”- April 7; Episode 5: “Crepes Suzette”- April 14; Episode 6: “Bread vs. Sweetbreads”-April 21; Episode 7 “Foie Gras”- April 28; Episode 8: “Chocolate Souffle”- May 5.

With only a few hours into the premiere, Julia already has an impressive 100% Rotten Tomatoes, with all positive reviews from nine critics. You can’t afford to miss any moment of this amazing series!
