Though it is already confirmed, the Paynes remake wouldn’t be coming out anytime soon. Remedy said that the remake is still in 'the concept development stage.' But players definitely have something to look out for since the studio behind Alan Wake and Control said the remake's development budget is 'in line with a typical Remedy AAA-production'.
Rockstar will be shouldering all the development, marketing and other distribution and publishing costs. Remedy developed the first two Paynes but Rockstar is the one who published them and has the control over Max Payne’s copyright.
Remedy will once again develop the epic remake and they will be using their Northlight game engine, that was lately seen in Control. With Rockstar’s funding and Remedy’s development, the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake will be legendary and will definitely be worth the wait. All of us are thrilled to see the matrix-inspired shooter hit the gaming scene once again.
