Veteran television writer and producer Maggie Friedman brings us yet another hit TV show, Firefly Lane. Inspired by the novel of the same name written by Kristin Hannah, the Netflix adaptation features the story of two friends Kate Malarkey (played by actress Sarah Chalke known for her role in Scrubs) and Tully Hart (played by actress Katherine Heigl who rose to fame for her roles in Grey’s Anatomy).

The series follows Kate and Tully as their friendship matures throughout the years and features a stellar award winning cast with highly regarded television credentials.

Katherine Heigl

Katherine or Katie to her close friends and family was born on November 24, 1978 in Washington D.C. She burst into the limelight at the young age of nine when an aunt took photos of her to be used for her hair product business. The snaps must’ve been really good that when they sent it to Wilhelmina, an international modeling agency, Katie was almost immediately signed on. Her first TV appearance was in a Cheerios commercial while her film debut came in 1992 for the film That Night. She modeled all throughout high school but soon realized that her passion was in acting. Katie became a household name playing Isabel in Grey’s Anatomy and she now takes the lead in Firefly Lane as Tully Hart.

Sarah Chalke

Sarah co-stars with Katherine Heigl in the Firefly Lane series and is best known for her work in Scrubs as Dr. Elliot Reid. This Canadian-born actress first caught the public’s attention as a reporter for KidZone in Canada when she was 12 years old. Sarah was born on August 27, 1976 and has been acting in theater when she was only 8 years old. Sarah is due to wed her long-time partner Jamie Afifi with whom she has two children: Charlie Rhodes, and Frances.

Ben Lawson

Ben stars in the Firefly Lane series as Johnny, the husband of Kate Malarkey. He was born in Australia on February 6, 1980 and began his career locally, starring in numerous television series such as Neighbors. His breakthrough role in the United States was as an M16 agent in the Designated Survivor, and later as coach Rick in 13 Reasons Why.

Jon-Michel Ecker

Jon joins the cast and crew of Firefly Lane as the love interest of Tully Hart. It was not a surprise that Jon ended up an actor as his father Guy Ecker is also an accomplished actor in Brazil. Jon was born on March 16, 1983 and began his career by acting in Spanish telenovelas. He got his first English role in 2015 in the show Major Crimes.

Beau Garrett

Beau Garrett stars alongside Katherine Heigl’s character, Tully Hart, playing her mother named Cloud. Her notable TV roles include appearances in The Good Doctor, Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, and Criminal Minds, opposite Forest Whitaker. Beau was born on December 28, 1982 in Beverly Hills.

Brandon plays Travis in Firefly Lane as the handsome widower that shares a kiss with Kate Malarkey. This Canadian born actor was born in Vancouver on October 15, 1982 and has been divorced once. If he looks oddly familiar, chances are you watched Power Rangers S.P.D. as a kid. He has also won the Golden Maple Award for Best Actor for his role in Graceland in 2015.

The youngest member of the cast but pivotal nonetheless, Yael was born in Canada on June 28, 2001. She plays the crucial role of Marah, Kate’s daughter, and a point of contention for Kate and Tully as the boundaries between the two are continuously tested in rearing Marah. Yael began acting in 2015 and lists  Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, and Brad Pitt as her favorite actors. This expressive young actress is also an avid reader and plays the ukulele.
