Starting from January 1, 2025, smoking will be banned in the streets of Milan, Italy.

In 2021, the Municipality of Milan had already introduced a policy banning smoking in shared public spaces as part of 'climate and air planning.'

The smoking ban, which started in 2021, is now being expanded.

According to the new decision, smoking and the use of tobacco products will be allowed only in specific areas. Smokers must be at least 10 meters away from other people.

Those who do not comply with the new rule will face fines ranging from 40 to 240 euros.

Some citizens have stated that they will appeal this decision. Meanwhile, a similar decision is being implemented in Turin as well.

In recent months, a bill was also introduced in Milan banning the sale of ice cream and pizza after midnight.

The purpose of this law is to protect the 'peace and health' of the city's residents and reduce crowding and noise in the city.
