In disappointing news for fans eagerly anticipating the Horizon Zero Dawn series, Netflix has decided to cancel the project. The decision comes in light of reports about a toxic set environment.
In 2022, Sony announced that the TV adaptations of the God of War and Horizon series would be meeting fans, with God of War entrusted to Amazon and the Horizon series to Netflix.
The reason for the cancellation is the show's producer, Steve Blackman. A recent article in the famous Rolling Stone magazine mentioned Blackman's inappropriate behavior on set, who is also the creator of another popular Netflix series, Umbrella Academy.
It is said that after the allegations of sexism, bullying, and toxic behavior surfaced, Blackman, who was also the producer of Orbital alongside Horizon Zero Dawn, had his projects canceled. However, there has been no comment from Netflix regarding the matter.
Currently hosting beloved game adaptations like Castlevania and Arcane, Netflix announced a few months ago that it would be adding animated series for Devil May Cry and Tomb Raider to its lineup. In short, it seems Netflix has no intention of slowing down in the game adaptation business.
