Netflix Drops Official Trailer for Mystery Thriller ‘The Snow Girl’ Issuing Release Date

We all understand how distressing it can be when someone goes missing. Even if you haven’t experienced it directly, you can testify to the torture of families searching for their loved ones.

Netflix’s upcoming mystery thriller show, The Snow Girl, presents such a case as a Spanish family searches for their missing daughter.

The Snow Girl is an adaptation of Javier Castillo’s novel, Spanish: La Chica de Nieve, which means The Snow Girl in English, shot between Madrid and Málaga.

During 2010’s Cavalcade of Magi (a traditional Spanish parade where wise men are carried on floats across various cities and villages) in Málaga, a girl, Amaya Martín, went missing in the crowds and has never been seen since. A young trainee journalist, Miren has since determined to locate Amaya, a journey which rekindles her past demons.

While other parties appear to be losing hope for the search, including the Martín family, Miren continues with the search wholeheartedly with the motto, “Someone should keep searching for Amaya.” Inspector Belén Millán walks with Miren throughout the entire journey, although Miren’s determination is broader than his.

It’s been eight days since Netflix shared the official trailer for The Snow Girl, and it has already attracted almost 200,000 views.

The trailer, running for 2 minutes and 18 seconds, begins with a plan to search for Amaya, followed by a flashback of 2010’s disappearance scene.

Miren begins the search for Amaya with her hopes high and never looks back.

The Snow Girl is written by Javier A. Roig and Jesús Mesas, with Laura Alvea and David Ulloa as the directors. Atípica Films produced the show for Netflix.

The above team incorporated various talents into the success of The Snow Girl, including Milena Smit (Miren Rojo), Tristán Ulloa (David Luque), José Coronado (Eduardo), and Aixa Villagrán (Belén Millán).

Others are Cecilia Freire, Raúl Prieto, and Julián Villagrán.

The Snow Girl launches exclusively on Netflix on Friday, January 27, 2023, with six episodes.
