Netflix Presents The Second Season of Canadian Sitcom ‘Sort Of’

HBO Max is back with the second season of Sort Of, a year after it launched the first installment. Sort Of is a Canadian TV series created by Fab Filippo and Bilal Baig for HBO Max and CBC Television. 

The first season which premiered in September 2021, garnered massive reviews, and critics revealed a 7 out of 10-star rating on IMDb and a 100% average Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes, supported by an 83% average audience score. 

Sort Of received its second season renewal in February 2022 and is scheduled to launch on December 1st.

Sort Of follows the life of Sabi Mahboob, the youngest member of a huge Pakistani family, with two gender identities. The previous season saw Sabi striving to stay occupied with various duties, such as being a bartender and bookseller while embracing transitions in his life. Sort Of tries to evoke humanity, love, and inclusivity. 

The upcoming season, termed the ‘season of love,’ will focus on all sorts of love for everyone but not without challenges. Sabi’s father unexpectedly returns from Dubai, while Bessy gets freed from rehab. Sort Of season two has so much in store for its fans that you cannot afford to miss.

Yes. HBO Max has already unveiled the official trailer to offer more storylines concerning the upcoming season of Sort Of. The trailer, which is 1 minute and 58 seconds long, starts with Sabi’s dissatisfaction about his father’s sudden return from Dubai, claiming it will mess with his new ‘vibes.’ 

The bar at which Sabi works is also at risk of closing down due to bankruptcy, as he promises to do all within his powers to prevent the closure. 

On the other side, Sabi’s father seems to have landed with new awkward behaviors as he suddenly starts doing dishes and secretly watching his wife during dance classes. The trailer finalizes with Sabi revealing his desire for simple relationships, not just romance.

Sort Of is created by Fab Filippo and Bilal Baig, who also chief produces alongside Ian I. Rashid, Laura Perlmutter, Bruno Dube, Julia Sereny, and Jeniffer Kawaja. 

The show producers are Elise Cousineau, Andrea Glinski, and Jessica Daniel. Sort Of is a project of Sienna Films, with the support of the Canada Media Fund.

The second season of Sort Of contains characters similar to its predecessors, including Bilal Baig (Sabi Mehboob), Grace L. Kung (Bessy), Gregory A. Calderone (Lewis), Supinder Wraich (Aqsa), Ellora Patnaik (Raffo), Amanda Cordner (7ven). 

Other characters are Aden Bedard (Henry), Kaya Kanashiro (Violet), and Gray Powell (Paul).
