Netflix announced some bittersweet news for fans of the martial arts show Cobra Kai that the long-awaited sixth season will be it's last.
The streamer dropped the announcement video a day ago, bearing a sneak peek of the mighty action coming. The underdogs are going out with a bang!
The preview kicks off with the dynamic duo Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) going head-to-head in the ring, with flashbacks of where it all began, in 1984's The Karate Kid.
“We have been fighting for so long. Against each other, with each other,” Daniel and Johnny narrate in the background.

The show's creators Hayden Schlossberg, Jon Hurwitz and Josh Heald stated on Twitter, thanking their fans and promising a strong season finale that winds up the epic story.
Schlossberg also said in his Tweet, “Big thanks to the fans for getting us to the finish line. Now get ready for one final round lots of big surprises along the way.”
Apart from the series leads, Macchio and Zabka, we expect many of the main casts to return to the sixth season. They include:
Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso
Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso
Griffin Santopietro as Anthony LaRusso
Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz
Jacob Bertrand as Hawk
Tanner Buchanan as Roby Keene
Gianni DeCenzo as Demetri
Vanessa Rubio as Carmen Diaz
Martin Kove as John Kreese
Peyton List as Tory Nichols
Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny Payne
Oona O’Brien as Devon
Yuji Okumoto as Chozen
Alicia Hannah-Kim as Kim Da-Eun
Macchio and Zabka shared about their almost 30-year-old friendship with PEOPLE last year. Macchio, 61, stated, “For Willy and I, the extent of our friendship and our history together has gone beyond, just like the show has. Take the nostalgia and the source material of what The Karate Kid universe has created and then define it in a whole new way, never losing sight of what it is.'
For Zabka, 57, working with Macchio has been an honor and coming back together to revisit their old characters has been a full-circle experience for both of them.
He told PEOPLE, 'We've both had lives since The Karate Kid. We've had families and careers. We're now grown men who get what's going on, and it's truly exciting.'
Though Netflix hasn’t revealed Cobra Kai season six’s debut date yet, it teases that it’ll be the 'biggest and baddest' season of them all.
