Netflix’s First Nigerian Series ‘Blood Sisters’: Release Date, Trailer, Plot and More

The new thriller film, and the streaming giant’s first original Nigerian series will hit Netflix this week. ‘Blood Sisters’ is a crime-thriller story revolving around the life of two best friends. This series was produced by leading Nigerian production company EbonyLife Studios.

The first original Nigerian series of Netflix will stream this week, May 5, 2022.

This dramatic thriller tells the story of two friends, Sarah and Kemi. Sarah is engaged to her dream man, Kola, however, their seemingly idyllic union has a dark side – Kola is a physically abusive and controlling fiancé. Despite Kemi’s vocal misgivings, Sarah is determined to press on with the wedding. On the day of the traditional engagement ceremony, tragedy strikes, unintentionally setting off a catastrophic series of events, finding both women on the run.

Sarah (Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi are two pals in the film Blood Sisters (Nancy Isime). Kola, Sarah's dream man, has proposed to her.

Kola is a physically violent and domineering fiance, thus their seemingly ideal relationship has a nasty side. Despite Kemi's voiced reservations, Sarah is adamant about going forward with the wedding.

Tragically, on the day of the customary engagement ritual, Kemi unintentionally murders Kola. Fearing that no one will believe she acted in self-defense, the friends resolve to cover up her death, unknowingly starting off a chain of events that will have disastrous consequences.

Ramsey Nouah, Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, and Segun Arinze join Dima-Okojie and Isime on the set.

Deyemi Okanlawon, Wale Ojo, Gabriel Afolayan, Kehinde Bankole, Daniel Etim Effiong, Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey, Maurice Sam, Ibrahim Suleiman, Toke Makinwa, and Okey Uzoeshi are also included in the excellent cast of Blood Sisters.
