In 1971, he met Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner in Kızıltoprak, with whom he formed the first group Kaygısızlar, beginning his career as a professional bass guitarist. After a brief period, the group disbanded, following which Uğur joined the rock group Kurtalan Ekspres formed by Barış Manço in 1972.
Uğur's foray into acting began in the mid-1990s, and he worked on both the big and small screens. He made his debut in the 1996 film 'Eşkıya', directed by Yavuz Turgul. Uğur was also a regular on the TV series 'İkinci Bahar', aired between 1998 and 2001, where he played a municipal police officer. In the following years, he appeared in numerous movies, including 'Komser Şekspir', 'G.O.R.A.', 'A.R.O.G', 'Yahşi Batı', and 'Pek Yakında'. He also featured in various TV shows like 'Türk Malı', 'Yeter Anne', 'Alacakaranlık', and 'Cennet Mahallesi'.
