The Finest Hours tells the true story of the 1952 U.S. Coast Guard rescue of the SS Pendleton crew, with Chris Pine and Ben Foster portraying two of the rescuers. Directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya/Cruella), The Finest Hours is a pretty typical action film with a little bit of exciting acting, also with an appearance from Casey Affleck. The spectacle of the sinking ship aspect is a Titanic-like thrill.

Hell Or High Water is the real reason to undergo this pairing. Written by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Sicario), this modernized Western sees two brothers, played by Pine and Foster, who plan some low-level bank robberies in a desperate attempt to save their family’s ranch. Unlike The Finest Hours, the acting in is this one is the main focus, with the great combined appeal of the two leads pitted against Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham playing Texas Rangers.
