Rapper Busta Rhymes Releases New EP 'The Fuse Is Lit'

Busta Rhymes' released his new project, ‘The Fuse Is Lit,’ on Friday, 18th November, to positive reviews.

The new EP from Busta was rated ‘Very Hottttt,’ in an editor review by rap culture website ‘HotNewHipHop.’

Busta Rhymes is said to have released the new project after encouragement from Funk Flex, who has been pressuring artists from various generations to drop new music.

Flex features on Busta’s lead single, ‘Slap,’ alongside Big Daddy Kane and Conway the Machine.

The EP features five new songs for East Coast OG Busta to rhyme on.

The project showcases the rapper’s ability and some of his slick bars proves he still got huge talent.

New York artists Swizz Beatz and Capella Grey also assist Busta on tracks in addition to those on the single ‘Slap.’

Jamaican dancehall jammer Skillibeng also assists Busta on a lively dancehall inspired track.

The new release from Busta Rhymes indicates that the New York legend could yet release a new longer form project or even a studio album in the next year.

Busta last released a studio project in 2020, titled ‘ Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God.’

The album was his first in eight years and peaked at seven in the US album charts.

Before that Busta released the mixtape, ‘The Return of the Dragon (The Abstract Went on Vacation).’

The tape was a follow up to Busta Rhymes’ collaboration mixtape with Q-Tip, ‘The Abstract and The Dragon.’

Busta and Q have been long time collaborators. Busta worked with Q-Tip in the nineties and beyond when he fronted the hip hop group ‘A Tribe Called Quest.’

The New York rapper recently made news for his enthusiastic congratulations of African artist Willis, who sold out Madison Square Garden.

'This is one of the first times I’m experiencing a venue of this size filled up in my city.,” he told Wizkid according to a video of the incident.

“Your vibe is something different, never experienced this. Incredible job,” he added.

'You've got all the legendary status there’s to achieve,” Busta told Wiz, 'It’s time for you and me to get into the kitchen and cook something.”

The conversation sent rumors around online that the pair might collaborate on a song in the near future.
