Barcelona's young defender, Pau Cubarsi, has revealed his humble and grounded life off the pitch, contrary to his shining life on the field.

In an interview with the Spanish sports newspaper AS, the 18-year-old player described his home life in Barcelona, which he shares with his older brother Irene; they share household chores such as cooking and washing dishes.

The Spanish national footballer, who played a significant role in Barcelona's LaLiga and Copa del Rey championships last season and attracted attention with his mature attitudes, emphasizes that his family keeps him grounded.

Barcelona put a 500 million Euro release clause to not miss him, but he keeps his feet on the ground.

Stating 'I am just an ordinary person,' Cubarsi continues his preparations with his Spanish national teammates for the FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Georgia. 'I have my feet on the ground. The support of my family, especially my parents and sister, makes this possible,' says Cubarsi, who draws attention with his modest life.

In a short while, he may become one of the world's renowned players, but he prioritizes his education.

Cubarsi, who is receiving business and management training, dedicates three afternoons a week to his classes and is preparing for a life outside of football.

'Football doesn't leave much time but I want to prepare myself. This course is more relaxed than university, it requires less time. So I can both rest and work,' he said.

Raised in La Masia, Cubarsi began living with his sister after being promoted to the first team. Their family often visits from their village in Estanyol, Girona.

The young player added, 'I'm learning to cook a bit, and I do the dishes if there are any.'

Despite his modest lifestyle, Cubarsi is ambitious on the field. He could potentially experience his first FIFA World Cup next year.

'I'm really looking forward to it and I can't wait to win. A [FIFA] World Cup is an amazing thing; just being able to participate would be great,' he said.
