Relive Your Night Life With ‘Midnight Asia: Eat. Dance. Dream.’

The night is alive again with ‘Midnight Asia: Eat. Dance. Dream.’ This documentary series will capture Asia’s food, drink, and music. ‘Midnight Asia’ is scheduled to stream on Netflix this Thursday, January 20.

The trailer for Netflix’s upcoming documentary series, ‘Midnight Asia: Eat. Dance. Dream.,’ offers a first look at the night lives of the different city dwellers; the sights and sounds by which they recognize their own homes – sizzling night market foods, elaborate drag shows, and a thriving indie music scene.

Each featured character offers a unique take on what night does to their city, but each reflects a common theme of new life and liberation. The trailer was first released on Dec. 23, giving audiences a sneak peek at the new and upcoming Netflix docuseries.

The ‘Midnight Asia’ documentary series explores the lively underground nightlife of six “megacities” in Asia. This series features six episodes which focuses on the intimate stories of various people from different Asian cities who highlight the area’s unique subcultures.

‘Midnight Asia: Eat. Dance. Dream’ was revealed on Dec. 14 by the streaming platform in a statement written by Original Documentary Programming Manager, Aloke Devichand. The docuseries aims to feature the “night owls who shine in the dark,” and the Asian cities’ different food, drink and music scenes. ‘Midnight Asia’ was established on the basis that nighttime highlights the cities’ most “playful” sides.

The six-episode docuseries will introduce different personalities from various cities including Seoul, Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Taipei and Mumbai.

The upcoming documentary, ‘Midnight Asia: Eat. Dance. Dream,’ is part of a wave of global Asian documentaries recently released by Netflix. The said docuseries will be joining other Asian documentaries including Thailand’s Hope Frozen (2020) and India’s House of Secrets (2021).
