Russia Strikes Ukrainian Cities with Hypersonic Missiles

Russian forces have launched a large-scale missile attack targeting several Ukrainian cities, including Kiev, Dnipro, Krivyi Rih, Slovyansk, and Kramatorsk. The strikes have resulted in significant casualties, with Ukraine reporting at least 20 fatalities and the destruction of a major children's hospital.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a children's hospital was damaged in the intense missile attack on Kiev, the capital of Ukraine by Russia.

Zelenskyy stated that besides Kiev, the cities of Dnipro, Kriviy Rig, Slovyansk, and Kramatorsk were targeted with more than 40 various missiles.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the attack on Ukraine's capital was one of the worst during Moscow's extensive two-year occupation.

Ukrainian authorities report at least 20 dead and 50 injured in the attacks. There are disturbing images showing children with cancer left stranded in the streets after the attacks.

The Ukrainian Air Force said that Russia used the advanced hypersonic Kinzhal missiles to strike the capital. Due to the Kinzhal missiles flying at speeds 10 times the speed of sound, they are reported to be very difficult to intercept.

The attack coincided with a critical three-day NATO summit scheduled to take place in Washington. The NATO-Ukraine Council meeting on July 11 aims to determine a strategy of support for Ukraine among the 32 member countries.
