Turkey's renowned for its gritty cinema, and one of its toughest productions, 'Barda' (At The Bar) is set to return to screens with a sequel after 17 years. Read on for more details about this highly anticipated follow-up!

Directed and written by Serdar Akar, starring Nejat İşler, Hakan Boyav, Serdar Orçin, Erdal Beşikçioğlu, Volga Sorgu, and Eray Özbal, the film "Barda" hit theaters in 2007, garnering significant attention for its intense scenes.

Inspired by a real-life incident in Ankara's Gaziosmanpaşa district in 1997, the movie was hailed as the toughest Turkish film ever made during the 26th Istanbul International Film Festival.

The plot revolves around a group of friends who are taken hostage by five strangers while visiting a bar, enduring torture and assault throughout the night.

According to Box Office Turkey, preparations have begun for the sequel to "Barda," one of Turkish cinema's compelling thrillers.

Directed by Hande Türkel, the sequel will feature Nejat İşler, Hakan Boyav, Serdar Orçin, and Volga Sorgu reprising their roles. The second installment, returning to the silver screen after 17 years, is set to premiere on November 29, 2024.
