Rapper/singer/songwriter Doja Cat, through a series of not entirely clear Twitter posts, announced in March 2022 that she will retire from music. The profanity-laden comment came as a shock to fans since the artist received a career-best of eight Grammy nominations earlier this year. Though not an explicit declaration that she was definitively quitting music, Doja Cat posted the following statement in response to fan outrage about not seeing her at a cancelled show in Paraguay.

Shortly after, Doja Cat posted an apology for the comments, saying that she does owe her fame to her fans and is very grateful for everything they have done for her.
She then took the opportunity not to go back on her comments but to restate them. Her following response to a comment about her retirement came as this five-word statement:
