The Drag Queen Competition Series ‘Queen Stars’ Premieres Today on HBO Max

It’s sassy and fierce! Queen Stars is a Max Original competition series that highlights razor-sharp drag queens in a bid for the pop crown. The show is hosted by the Brazilian superstar Pabllo Vittar joined by fellow Brazilian icon Luisa Sonza.

The Spanish reality TV show will see the duo lead a strong competition of 20 drag queens. The series' eight episodes present the queens dancing and singing their hearts out to emerge the winner. Elimination rounds will see three competitors contesting for the top queen position.

Here are the names of the queen diva contestants: Aimée Lumiére, Reddy Allor, Diego, Dacota Monteiro, Divanna Kahanna Montez, Sasha Zimmer, Naja White, Sarah Vika, Ohana Azalee, Ravell, Luwi Bloom, Wes, Mercedez Vulcão, Leyllah Diva Black, Fabio Chiamenti, Ashilleyy Extravaganzza, Ivana Conda, Arquiza, Katha Maathai, Luka Cortez. 

Queen Stars will be judged by Diego Timbo, Vanessa da Mata and Tiago Abravanel. There will also be coaches and mentors to groom the contestants. They include Bruno Barbosa (dance coach), Blazy Gulfier (voice coach), Flavio Verne (artistic director) and Michelly X (visagismo).

Episode 1 sees the drag queens performing a gay anthem. In the first round, Extravaganzza, Montez, White and Zimmer perform Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, where Montez is eliminated. 

The next performance, I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, sees Aquiza, Vulcão and Wes advancing to the next round while Bloom is eliminated. 

The third round of performance Indestrutivel by Pabllo Vittar see Chiamenti, Black and Allor advancing while Cortez is eliminated. 

Material Girl by Madonna is performed by Lumiére (advanced), Monteiro (advanced), Maathai (advanced) and Conda (eliminated). 

Lastly, Finally by Cece Peniston, saw Diego, Azalee and Ravell advancing except for Vika.
