In a study conducted through the Estonian Biobank, approximately 59,000 individuals and 263 professions were analyzed. Participants were asked about their job descriptions, salary information, personality traits, and life satisfaction.
Scientists, drawing from the data, revealed which professions provided higher satisfaction. According to the study, income level does not determine happiness as much as thought. The prestige of the job was also seen to have a weak effect on satisfaction.
The factor that most significantly increased the feeling of satisfaction was found to be 'finding meaning in work'. Scientist Katlin Anni emphasized that even jobs that do not have high prestige can make an employee happier when they provide a strong sense of achievement.
Moreover, it was observed that satisfaction noticeably increased in professions where there was a high opportunity for independent work.
