In a disturbing development that has once again thrust issues of sexual assault and accountability into the public eye, a third accuser has come forward to file a lawsuit against renowned rapper and music mogul, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall. The lawsuit alleges that the two men took turns sexually assaulting the accuser and her friend during an event in the early 1990s, shedding light on a harrowing tale of alleged misconduct that spans over three decades.
Jane Doe, as identified in the lawsuit, alleges that she and her friend met Combs and Hall at an event hosted by MCA Records in New York City in the early 1990s.
The lawsuit claims that Combs and Hall were flirtatious and provided drinks to Jane Doe and her friend throughout the night.
After the event, the women were invited to Hall's apartment for an afterparty, where Jane Doe was allegedly coerced into having sex with Combs.
Following Combs' involvement, Aaron Hall allegedly entered the room and forced Jane Doe to have sex with him.
Jane Doe's friend also claimed to have been forced into a sexual encounter with both Combs and Hall in another room.
The lawsuit suggests that Combs and Hall switched partners during the alleged assaults.
A few days later, Combs allegedly violently attacked Jane Doe when he came to her home, reportedly to prevent her from disclosing the events to her friend.
A spokesperson for Sean Combs has vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them as 'fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago' and characterizing the lawsuit as a 'money grab.'
The spokesperson suggested that Combs' fame and success make him an easy target for such accusations, which they claim are motivated by financial gain.
They also criticized the exploitation of the Adult Survivors Act for personal benefit and implied that the New York Legislature did not intend for the law to be used in this manner.
The lawsuit has been filed just before the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act, which extended the statute of limitations for survivors of sexual abuse to file civil claims.
In addition to Combs and Hall, the lawsuit also names MCA Inc, MCA Music Entertainment Group, and Geffen Records as defendants.
The suit alleges battery, assault, sexual assault, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and seeks unspecified damages at trial.
