OceanGate organized a tour to the Titanic, which sank in 1912, in 2023.

However, this tour became one of the most tragic events of 2023. The Titan submersible exploded in the depths of the Atlantic. Following the explosion, some of the world's leading wealthy individuals, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, lost their lives.

After the horrific incident, it was revealed that the Titan submersible had malfunctioned just a few days before the dive.

OceanGate's former scientific director, Steven Ross, reported that during a test dive a few days prior, a passenger had become 'upside down' and that other passengers were holding onto this individual.

Ross stated that he did not know whether there were any faults in the Titan's hull after this malfunction.

He also mentioned that he was unaware if the malfunction had been checked and noted that the support team spent over an hour attempting to bring the Titan back to the surface after the malfunction.
