1. Ancient City of Aphrodisias Görseli — Located in the Karacasu district of Aydin, named after Aphrodite, this UNESCO World Heritage site was an important sculpture centre in Roman times. Its well-preserved buildings include the massive Stadium, Temple of Aphrodite, Tetrapylon gate, theatre and baths. Excavation finds are exhibited in the museum at the entrance.

It is home to a unique biodiversity (800+ plant species, hundreds of bird species). It offers activities such as swimming in pristine bays, hiking in canyons, bird watching and visiting Zeus Cave.

5. Kusadasi and Güvercinada Castle

The popular resort town of Kusadasi in Aydin is known for its beaches, vibrant nightlife and proximity to Ephesus. The city's landmark Güvercinada Castle is a historic Ottoman castle connected to the land by a road that protects the harbour and offers spectacular views.

9. Keşkek

Keşkek, which is an indispensable dish especially for collective events such as weddings, is prepared by beating wheat and meat together for a long time. It is topped with butter and red pepper. It is a symbol of sharing and tradition.

10. Pasha Pastry

This hearty pastry, unique to Aydin, is prepared in layers by placing a minced meat mixture between phyllo sheets soaked in broth and topped with yoghurt and minced meat sauce.

11. Aydin Chestnut

Aydin ranks first in Turkey in chestnut production after figs. The chestnuts, which grow naturally in the mountainous regions, are nutritious and delicious, and are usually grown organically.

12. Efe Culture and Yoruk Ali Efe

Efe culture, one of the cultural symbols of Aydin and the Aegean, includes Efes, Zeybek and Kizans, known for courage and justice. Their unique costumes and Zeybek dances are important.
