The Institute's Sunflower Unit Manager, Mehmet Ibrahim Yılmaz, shared his insights with the press. According to him, the endeavor isn't just limited to increasing productivity. Instead, the focus is also on ensuring the newly developed sunflowers have a high tolerance level against climatic conditions and diseases. 'Successful varieties will be introduced to the producers once they clear the registration phase,' Yılmaz noted.
Highlighting the Institute's prowess, Yılmaz proudly stated, 'Our newly developed varieties are all set to produce certified seeds this year. By early 2024, once they have their certificates, farmers will have the privilege of testing these on their fields, paving the way for more extensive cultivation.'
