The Real Griselda Blanco

Griselda Blanco Restrepo, born on February 15, 1943, played a pivotal role in the drug trade from Colombia to locations spanning Miami, New York, and California. As a member of the Medellin Cartel, she rose to prominence in the 1980s, orchestrating an extensive and illicit drug trade network. Blamed for around 2,000 murders during her criminal career, Blanco's arrest in 1985 by DEA agents marked a significant event. Released in 2004 after a heart attack in 2002, Blanco met a tragic end in 2012 when she was assassinated in Medellin at the age of 69.
