WhatsApp is working on integrating Google Translate into its chat feature. This new functionality will allow users to instantly translate messages within the chat window, making it easier to communicate with people who speak different languages.
Now, WhatsApp aims to overcome the language barrier to enable users from different countries to communicate with each other!
With this feature, users will be able to translate texts in foreign languages directly through WhatsApp without having to switch to other apps.
The Live Translation feature processes data on the device and does not send personal data to Google's cloud. Therefore, users will be able to use the translation feature offline. However, it is noted that this feature may initially be limited to certain languages.
With Apple recently launching an API for the Translate app, it is possible that WhatsApp will offer a similar feature to iOS users. However, there is currently no reference to this feature in the iPhone app, and it is unclear if this feature is on WhatsApp's roadmap.
