Turkey is divided into seven geographical regions, each with its own climate, vegetation and cultural fabric:
1. Marmara Region: Located at the junction with Europe. Home to megacities such as Istanbul.
2. Central Anatolia Region: Home to the capital city of Ankara, this region features vast steppe landscapes dominated by a continental climate.
3. Black Sea Region: Known for its humid climate and lush green landscapes.
4. Eastern Anatolia Region: Turkey's highest mountains and harshest climate are found in this region.
5. Aegean Region: Famous for its olive groves, ancient cities and tourist coastal towns.
6. Mediterranean Region: Popular for its warm climate and long coastline.
7. Southeastern Anatolia Region: It attracts attention with its historical riches extending to Mesopotamia.
These regions also reflect Turkey's geological, cultural and climatic diversity.
